Arsenal's Aaraon Ramsay undergoes surgery to repair broken leg

Feb 28th: Arsenal's promising teenage midfielder, Aaron Ramsay, has had surgery to repair the compound fracture of his tibia and fibula he suffered during Arsenal's 3-1 defeat of Stoke City on Saturday. Ramsay was stretchered off following an horrendous tackle by Ryan Shawcross who was sent off and left the pitch in tears. Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger described the challenge as "totally unacceptable" and players from both sides were clearly shocked. The leg injury, which has echoes of when Ramsay's team-mate Eduardo broke his leg in similar circumstances in a match against Birrmingham two years ago, will see Ramsay miss the rest of the season and he will now face a lengthy recuperation to regain his fitness.
