ESPH Lions 2017 – Tackle Africa
For the 6th year running the ESPH Lions are taking part in the London Football Marathon on June 17th. We’ll be covering our toes in blister plasters, pulling on our boots and playing around 20 matches over a 12 hour period all with the aim of raising as much as we can for the Tackle Africa HIV Charity. Our fundraising target is £2,500 and we need your help to reach it.
Tackle Africa do some fantastic and much needed HIV health promotion work in both sub-Saharan Africa and here in the UK, all through the medium of football. Their target audience is mostly adolescent boys and girls and having witnessed their work first hand I can vouch for its effectiveness and simplicity. The charity itself are small and lean without expensive offices or overheads and rely largely on an army of volunteers. All the money raised at the football marathons goes to supporting the charity’s work. If you’d like to find out more about Tackle Africa and what they do visit their web page here.
Meanwhile, the ESPH Lions need your support. Please visit our Fundraising page, see below, and give what you can. I know we’re all frequently bombarded by these requests but please give what you can and help us reach our target.
With many thanks for your generosity.
