Chris Hopwood has joined the ESPH Physiotherapy team.
Originally from South Africa, Chris graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in 2010 with a BSc in Physiotherapy. He initially worked in the state health care system in South Africa before moving into Private Practice where he focused on sports-related injuries. In 2014 he completed a postgraduate certificate in Sports Physiotherapy.
Chris has valuable experience working with individual athletes, and team sportsmen and women, from amateurs to professionals. These sports include football, athletics, cricket, netball and hockey. Before joining ESPH, Chris was the Head Physiotherapist for a professional rugby team, the Pumas.
Chris’ interests include injury prevention, concussion management, and injury management from the acute phase through to return to sport/ work or lifestyle activities. Chris uses many treatment methods to get someone back to 100% including; exercise prescription, dry-needling (medical acupuncture), manual therapy and Pilates.
Chris has always enjoyed watching and playing a variety of sports and outdoor activities. Together with his wife and two young children, they have recently relocated to the United Kingdom and started exploring the country.
