The origins of physiotherapy can be traced back to the Greek Physician Hippocrates in 450 BC who advocated massage, manual therapy and hydrotherapy. But the earliest documented origins of physiotherapy as a profession can be traced to 4 nurses from Guys Hospital in London who were responsible for forming the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in 1894.
All our physiotherapists are trained in a variety of techniques including; manual therapy, muscle energy, manipulation, acupuncture, exercise rehabilitation, Pilates and many others. Please use the menu to the left to browse all the techniques our therapists use and other treatments and services that we offer.
We will take a full and thorough history of your injury before we arrive at a diagnosis. We will explain how long it will take to reduce your pain and set you on the road to recovery. We will ask you what your specific goal is, what it is you can’t do that you want us to help you do and agree how we will help you achieve it and you will need to take a full and active role in this process.
If you have any scans, x rays or referral letters from your GP or specialist doctor then bring these with you. You will be asked to undress so we can properly assess you so you may want to bring some shorts with you (we can provide them if you prefer).
You will be asked to sign a consent to treatment form and provide us with your contact details so please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment is due to start so you have time to do this.
