An update message from the Sharp Family – March 28th
A huge thank you to everyone who’s written in to tell us you’re continuing with your membership while we’re closed. Your generosity is incredible and will never be forgotten.
Our fabulous staff
Many of you have asked what support we are receiving from the government during this period of lockdown. We are very relieved that the chancellor has put in place schemes to support our staff. Both employed as well as self-employed staff are now entitled to wages cover up to 80% of their income to a monthly ceiling of £2500, although there are some exceptions to this and we are still working through the detail with some of our self-employed people. But what we can say with absolute certainty is that no-one has been let go / layed off or made redundant as a result of the shut down, nor will they be.
Cash Grants for Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Businesses
You will probably have heard about the grants of between £10K & £25K that have been made available to businesses in our sector. Unfortunately, as our rateable value exceeds the £51K threshold we are not eligible.
Aside from the coronavirus business interruption loan scheme and the VAT deferral scheme there is no other support available to us currently. We still have bills to pay and our income has already reduced by 75%. That is why we are asking for your support in order to get through these most difficult of days.
We’re still here!
ESPH Live continues to offer a daily schedule of 4-5 classes all streamed live on our Instagram feed esph_fitforlife. We’re also offering online physio & PT appointments which you can book via our website or by calling us Monday to Friday 10AM to 4PM. We’re also leasing equipment and have some spin bikes still available. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to express your interest. All bikes are delivered free of charge.
As mentioned before, if you do feel you have to cancel then we will freeze your membership so you can delay making that decision but we would ask you to stick with us if you can so there is an ESPH for you when we emerge from this crisis.
Please stay at home, respect the current guidelines and stay safe and well. We will be here at your side throughout these dark days and will provide you with a further update very soon.
