Tai Chi at ESPH - develop your physical and mental focus.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi focuses on 13 basic movements which combine to make up a series of routines. There are 5 main styles of Tai Chi namely, Yang, Chen, Wu, Wu(Hao) and Sun.  Your East Dulwich Tai Chi experience will focus on several routines based on Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan.

ESPH Tai Chi Classes in South London

Styles of Tai Chi we teach at ESPH East Dulwich:

  • 24 Step Tai Chi Form
  • 18 Step Tai Fan Form
  • 18 Step Tai Chi Qi Gong Form

Qi Gong (energy skills) uses movement with deep breathing exercise and each movement has a more specified healing purpose compared to routines. Some of the Qi Gong exercises are based on Tai Chi movements, e.g.   18 Tai Chi Qi Gong Movements, which we practice.

We have classes for tai chi beginners or seasoned pros! All our sessions last for an hour long and are available within your annual gym membership or can be purchased in a booklet of 5 for non-members starting from £69.

Update on Video on demand and Live Stream

We continue to offer a daily timetable of free classes streamed live on Instagram with most posted to our YouTube channel as well. And from Friday May 8th we are releasing a number of videos on MBO which you can book online or via the App in the usual way. You can still Book physio online or by calling us on 020 7907 1900, our admin hours are currently 10AM – 4PM Monday to Friday, if you want to reach us outside of these hours please use the chat feature on the site or email us.
